Rest. I believe that my body is asking me for rest. So that is what I will give it. Last night I went to my normal monday night Zumba class. I cant even explain how off I was. Even the teacher said "what is wrong with you tonight Jen?" . I think it may be from doing the 3 and 4 mile runs(6 miles with the walk) one day apart. It probably wouldnt have been as straining to my body had that large hill not been involved. I know I keep talking about this hill so next time I go up there I will take a picture of it and put it on here. I felt like I was in slow motion in class last night. Like my body would not keep up with what I was asking of it. I kept watching the clock waiting for the class to end and I never do that. I didnt feel like talking or being my bubbly self. I felt like going home and sitting on the couch in a daze. I was planning on zumba tonight but have decided to give myself a day of rest. I always see other blogs of runners who say they are taking a day of rest or that their body is asking for rest and I never really got it. I get it now. Its a different feeling than just being tired. I am going to listen to my body. I didnt sleep that great last night. The girls were up on and off for some reason. That means I am up too. Hopefully tonight will be better.
Have a great day!

It's an amazing thing when we are able to tune into our bodies and do what they ask.
I know for myself sometimes taking a day of rest works so much better than straining the body, i always come back that much stronger.
good for you for listening to your body
The day of rest is as important as the run! Those muscles need to repair themselves. Rest away, Jennifer!
I give myself two rest days after my long run of 7 miles. It does help your body recover, and it makes you run better when you return.
Funny how you said you weren't into exercising. I went to Zumba tonight and just wasn't that into it. I think a lot of it is because I don't want to over exercise too soon. Another reason is the instructor did 3 new songs right off the bat with all new moves. So I was out of my comfort zone. Oh well. There's always next week!
I always try to take one day off from all types of exercise each week. I think I really need it, and I think my joints and muscles are grateful too!
I admire you for running. I plan to start a schedule, when it cools down a bit, and build up to a run. Thanks for the comments on the calories. You may be able to eat more because you are more active. While I'm at 1,000 calories I'm not exercising and will go back to 1,200 next week. I think the thing is to keep changing and I'd been at 1,200 calories for several months. Dropping to 1,000 seems to be working and has knocked me off the plateau. Thanks for the info. always good to hear comments from other fellow journey-ers.

Less of Me
I think that is great advise. I give myself days of rest all the time. Like tomorrow I will be resting from the sun. See too much of anything is not always good. smile. And thanks for always commenting on my blog.
