Hi Everyone!
First, Thank you to Jennifer for saying how nice it is to see me back, its hard getting back into the blogging routine! Second, my week one went great, and I lost 9.1 lbs. That means I am down about 3lbs from when I first went on Medifast. That was so exciting for me! However...then came the weekend and I went off the diet a little. I am disappointed in myself since I made it three months the first round and only a week this time around. And, I am always saying that the plan doesn't work if you don't do it to the T. But, I am over it and time to move on to this week. I don't think I will be able to do Medifast for very long this time around because it is quite expensive, so I am trying to think of what to do when I am off the plan to control my weight and to keep losing. I had a very long conversation with my good friend Brooke on Saturday about all of the choices I have. I am considering WW and counting calories, but I am always looking for other ideas. So a question to all of our great readers out there.. What plan works best for you and why?

The plan that works for me, is calorie counting, plain and simple. I don't do well with structured diets or meal plans. Just experiment and you'll find your niche. I lost 50lbs using this (free) website back in '07 www.sparkpeople.com

Yay... big congrats on losing 9 pounds! That is great. I hope you are able to kick it while you are on MF. It's my favorite program that works for me... but it is more expensive for us too... we have thought about one or both of us stopping but we just don't want to do that with all the positives going on for us... thus, we sell our furniture! tee hee. I hope you find something that will work for you!!! ;)

I agree. WW and calorie counting are pretty much the same concept. They will work but you have to have the right mindset. Go for it!
Calorie counting works for me. I use calorieking.com. Buy a scale so you can measure your portions. Measure when you cook, like cheese, pasta, meat, whatever. Once you're aware, it's so much better.
And write it down. WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN. (talking to myself there too!). I lost 100 lbs. by calorie counting and writing down everything. Then I stopped. The weight loss stopped too. So WRITE IT DOWN. Use a spread sheet, post it note, journal, whatever.
I also count calories. For everything. I am using "Tap and Track" on my iPod and it keeps track of all that I eat and all calories I earn when I work out. I love it, and it's pretty simple to use. Other than that, I try to avoid sugar and artificial stuff as much as possible, and steer toward the fresh fruits/veggies, and whole grains.
I haven't done research on Medifast. When you did it before...did you gain weight back after you went off of it?
